  48. For a single Internet user who wants to keep his system secure,
  49. a Firewall gateway is not an affordable or practical solution.
  50. Personal Firewall provides such a solution. It implements much of the
  51. same logic as a Firewall gateway in an affordable, easy-to-use
  52. software package. It allows you to control access to your computer
  53. connected to Internet, Deny/Alert/Log any incoming/outgoing connection.

  58. Any IBM or compatible computer with a 386 or higher CPU;
  59. 4MB of RAM;
  60. Modem or network card;
  61. Any TCP/IP stack for Microsoft Windows.

  65. Installation:

  67. For setup Personal Firewall beta version software
  68. from Elementrix Techomlogies Ltd. on your personal computer,
  69. please unzip the file into floppy or into temporary directory
  70. on your hard disk.

  72. Run setup.exe from within directory/disk where you have installation
  73. files. Follow the installation instructions.

  93.                          Setup of Personal FireWall.
  94.  
  95. 1.  Run program "FireWall Install/Uninstall" and install FireWall. 
  96. 2.  Run program "FireWall Config" and:
  97.      a) set directory for log files (\elemntrix\firewall\log for example);
  98.      b) click OK.
  99. 3.  You must start Personal Firewall at the begining of your Windows
  100.      session, so move the "Personal FireWall" icon from group named
  101.     "Personal Firewall 2.0 beta" to the Program Manager  "STARTUP" group.
  102. 4.  Restart Windows to launch Personal Firewall automatically.

  107.                  Working with Personal FireWall.
  108.  
  109.  1. Run program "RuleBase Manager" to create new file for rules, or 
  110.     modify existing one.
  111.  2. Change Source IP to IP Address of PC with Client.
  112.  3. Change Source to source you need.
  113.  4. Set time and day.
  114.  5. Change Track to Log(ing), Alert or None.
  115.  6. Set this rule active (Double Click on the number of the rule).
  116.  7. Push the "Save file" button.
  117.  8. Push the "Apply rules" button to compile file with rules to 
  118.     config file for Personal FireWall.
  119.  9. In Main Window of Personal FireWall you can watch a real
  120.     time log.
  121. 10. You can use "Log Viewer" to read, control and save old log files.

  126.           Close "Personal FireWall" with Alt-F4, before you
  127.           close any service program. (FTP, Mail, Telnet
